This is about me, and my story and journey. I feel like I’ve come a long way and it should be relatable. I am just a normal dude, and focused and changed things, not some person with great gene’s and always fit, not always on top of things.

In high school I skateboarded with my buddies (the other 30plus crew) and played soccer. Skating kept me thin, that and being young of course. I ate crap but it didn’t matter, I was young high metabolism and active. Well then college came, I went to UCLA and started on my degree with a major of Astrophysics. Needless to say it was damn hard, where that was my only focus. I couldn’t really do anything but study, homework etc. I stopped playing soccer and skating. With that my weight just went up and up, to a point where by the time I was at my heaviest I was nearly 300lbs. I saw a picture of myself and thought okay that’s big and decided to do something about it.

That’s what lead me to cycling, well more specifically Triathlons to start. I decided I wanted to do a Tri and so I set off on my journey. With the amazing support of my wife, I started tracking everything I ate. I’d go into the garage and hook a bike up to a trainer, and start off at 5 mins. That’s all I could do, then it moved up to 10 mins, etc and did that every day. Weekends I’d go out for a ride, I’d swim and run as well. Started signing up for Triathlons and started dropping weight. At my lowest I got down to 181lbs, I have fluctuated since then. My wife and I had a baby (well she did) I had sympathy weight but overall I’ve kept the weight off (as of this posting I am at 196 looking to lose).

So this is where I am at, I’ve lost 100lbs. No magic, no special diet plan, no tapeworm, just the normal way Calories out > Calories in. Just a normal guy who did it, if I can then you can too. Which is why I really relate to 30+ I am now over 30 and in the best shape of my life. I would romp on 18 year old me haha, and I am just getting better. Power is going up through consistent work and look forward to what the next years have to hold. I am a grown up but still young at the core having fun!
