I have had the BMC RoadMachine for couple months now, overall it’s a great bike. The goal is the upgrade it as time passes. I always like to put my own spin on things so getting the top top model is never my style since I want to replace stuff anyway.
So right now the goal is to make things lighter, upgrading components to lighter weight options. First up would be pedals, I have speedplay pedal and love the fully adjustable float. So I decided to upgrade the spindles on them to Titanium, got some off Ebay pretty cheap and finally got here. Ended up saving about 28 grams per spindle (I don’t have a fancy digital scale so I just use this old food scale had laying around).
Easy enough to remove the old spindle and get new in there, so lightens up the bike a little bit as well as adds a cool color. You can get specific colors but I always like the Ti rainbow look. I will probably order another set for the TT bike as well!
